Comments:
The Cheetah also appears in Sensation Comics #22 which went on sale shorty before this story, making that her true first appearance. However, that story is clearly intended to take place after this one which makes this story her chronological first appearance.

Wonder Woman #230 which features the Cheetah presents events that cannot be completed reconciled with this story. That story claims to have taken place in Winter 1942, while mentioning that the Cheetah and Wonder Woman had met previously. That story must actually have occurred after this one.

This story continues in part in the second story of Wonder Woman #6.

Synopsis:
Wonder Woman performs at a charity event where she meets Priscilla Rich. Priscilla becomes extremely jealous of the Amazon. In a jealous rage, her mind snaps, causing her to don a costume and become the Cheetah.

The Cheetah steals the charity money, then uses it to frame Wonder Woman and the charity organizer, Courtley Darling. Wonder Woman turns herself in to the police, but is bailed out by a mystery woman.

The Amazon and Darling go to meet the woman, who turns out to be the Cheetah, and fall into a trap. Wonder Woman escapes with the help of Steve Trevor and Etta Candy. Cheetah appears to die in a fire, though Wonder Woman suspects the Cheetah's real identity.
