Synopsis:
Dick Malverne enters Linda Danvers in the Miss Universe contest. Linda is initially reluctant to enter, fearing it will impede her duties as Supergirl. However, when she learns that a potentially dangerous fate awaits the winner, Linda sabotages the other contestants and wins the contest. After her victory, Linda is taken into space to take part of a Miss Cosmos contest. As Supergirl she wins again and is awarded the grand prize of sleeping in a cabinet of eternal youth.
Before entering the chamber, several former winners of the Miss Cosmos contest warn Supergirl that the chamber actually disfigures the occupant. The perpetrator, Jak-Thal, forces Supergirl inside and admits that the purpose of the contest is to destroy beauty. Supergirl escapes the chamber and apprehends Thal. She believes that the machine did not affect her because of her invulnerability. When she returns to Earth, Supergirl discovers that she was wrong and has indeed become disfigured.
