Part 2:"An Army of Ants"
Part 3:"The Ant-Man's Revenge"

Henry Pym wears a costume for the first time in this story, which contains the first ever mention of "unstable molecules" from which Ant-Man's costume is made. Unstable molecules are mentioned again in Fantastic Four #6 which was released after this issue.

Synopsis:
After his first experience of being reduced to tiny size, Henry Pym destroyed the formula. However, in the months that follow, Pym reconsiders and recreates the formula. During these months, he has also become fascinated by ants and has devised a helmet which can tune in on their communications.

Although Pym is obsessed with his new line of research, the government asks him to work on another project, the development of an anti-radiation gas. Communists learn about Pym's work on the project and send agents to raid his lab. Pym's assistants are tied up and questioned, but Henry escapes by reducing himself to ant size.

The newly styled Ant-Man man locates a nearby ant colony. He is able to scare the smaller ants, then he defeats one of the larger worker ants using his human strength which he now retains at ant size. Using the new communication helmet, Ant-Man is able to command an ant army. He unties his assistants, then has the ants attack the spies. When the communists are defeated, Pym returns to normal size and conceals his new abilities.
