This story takes place at some time in the 19th century, though the exact timeframe is unknown, stagecoachs were still in use.

Although its not specifically stated, Anderson's female companion is implied to be a prostitute.

Synopsis:
Bandits attack a stagecoach. A masked man in black comes to the rescue and chases off the highwaymen. Inside the stagecoach is a pregnant woman. Another woman asks the man in black to help her. She is traveling with Anderson, a doctor who has abandoned his profession after losing his own wife and child during childbirth. Rather than help the pregnant woman, Anderson flees. The man in black and the other woman help the pregnant woman deliver her child. The man then guides the stagecoach to the nearest town. He fights off another attack by the highwaymen and finds the body of Anderson, who was killed by the bandits. When they reach town, the sheriff asks who the man in black was. The woman names him El Diablo.
