Synopsis:
During a rain storm Alan Scott and Doiby Dickles take refuge in an abandoned house. Inside they find a satchel of letters that was stolen from a stage coach before the Civil War. Green Lantern decides to deliver the letters to the descendants of the original recipients.
The first letter they deliver to a woman. It contains a love letter written by her grandfather to her grandmother. Another letter contains a bank draft which helps an impoverished family.
When Green Lantern and Doiby deliver a letter to explorer Steel Nerves Thomas, they find him being robbed. Green Lantern helps him stop the crooks. The letter and a little help from the hero also assist Thomas is gaining some much needed confidence and bravery.
The final letter is delivered to Pete Blake, a reformed safe cracker. He learns that he is the descendant of a prominent American. He is able to use the letter to gain entry into an exclusive high-class club where he meets Dorothy Cartwright. When crooks rob the club, Pete is forced to reveal his criminal past, but he is able to save the life of Dorothy's father and other club members.
