Part 3: "The Impossible Bridge"

This story features a new origin for Wonder Woman that is distinctly different from previous versions. All references to World War II have been removed, so this should be considered the origin of the Earth-1 version of Wonder Woman.

Hippolyta has blonde hair as of this story, distinguishing her from her Earth-2 counterpart.

Synopsis:
Athena orders the Amazons to select a champion to journey into the Man's World. Diana worries that her mother may unfairly favor her in the competition with her fellow Amazons. To avoid favoritism, all the Amazons wear Wonder Woman disguises, so Hippolyta can not tell them apart. Diana is victorious in the competition and selected as champion.

Before leaving for the Man's World, Diana spots Steve Trevor falling from an airplane overhead. She rescues him, preventing his landing on Paradise Island. She returns Steve to the Man's World, then begins her first mission.

Wonder Woman's first mission is to turn a penny into a million dollars in 24 hours. Several attempts to earn money fail, until she finds an offer to build a bridge for a million dollars. Wonder Woman uses her strength and presumedly Amazon magic to change the penny into the bridge itself. She earns the million dollars, which she then contributes to charity.
