Synopsis:
When a night watchman quits his job at the Ironside Mine, he claims that elves near the mine have scared him away. Photographer Tim Harley investigates and discovers the elves too. When he photographs them, the elves attack. The Phantom Stranger appears and fends off the elves with an iron sword.

Harley returns home with the Stranger. An elf appears there. The elf explains that his people are from Earth and are planning to invade. The elf disappears when Tim attacks it with an iron poker.

The Phantom Stranger and Tim then don suits of armor and return to the mine. There, they battle the elves and thwart the attempted invasion. The Phantom Stranger theorizes that the elves are from thousands of years in the future, then he disappears.
