Synopsis:
Volk the head of a large illegal gambling operation decides to retire. He approaches the mayor to offer evidence against his rivals which makes him the target of hitmen. When the mayor is too drunk too listen, Volk leaves.

Myra contacts Vic Sage. She hopes Vic will be able to get an interview with Volk. When Vic is unable to arrange the interview, he pays Volk a visit as the Question. Volk explains that he came from a family of gypsies. After the Nazis rounded up his family, Volk escaped and was raised by wolves.

Hitmen then ambush Volk. The Question helps Volk defend himself, but the gang boss is shot during the battle. Volk whispers a message to the Question as he is dying. Following the message, Vic goes to Bavaria where he sees a wolf with the same scar as Volk and believes that Volk now lives on inside the wolf.
