Synopsis:
Swamp Thing protects a mutant child from an angry mob led by Rafe Taggert. The child is one of three siblings adopted by Jeb Wheeler of Prelude, Louisiana. The townspeople blame all their ill fortune on the children. After Jeb dies, Taggert and the mob want to kill the children. Swamp Thing helps the children hide in the swamp. When the mayor's son comes looking for the kids, he is caught in a fire started by the mob. One of the children risks her life to save the boy. She ultimately dies in the blaze. Seeing the error of their ways, the mob disengages the fight. The mayor agrees to foster the other two children.
