This story is continued from Action Comics Weekly #603 and continues in Action Comics Weekly #605.

Synopsis:
John Stewart is called to testify before a Senate committee. They blame him for attacking a fighter jet and destroying an apartment building. John tries to explain that he is no longer Green Lantern. Further, he tells them that Star Sapphire was responsible for those actions and the recent death of his wife.

Suddenly Hal's power ring lands on the table next to John. Then the committee brings in a witness to testify against John, Carol Ferris. John puts on the ring and uses it to encase Carol in a bubble which deprives her of oxygen. He then storms out of the courtroom.

John locates Hal's power battery to recharge the ring. Star Sapphire causes the building to collapse, killing a small child. John visits Katma's grave, then sends the ring back to Hal. Once the ring is gone, police arrive to arrest him.
