Synopsis:
The Phantom Stranger shares an evening in the company of Doctor Terrence Thirteen, the Ghost Breaker. Their night of chess playing and small talk is interrupted by the arrival of Cassandra Craft, a former acquaintance of the Stranger. She has come to tell the Stranger about a recent attack upon her by Tala, Mistress of the Darkness. Tala was thought to be dead, but has now returned. The Phantom Stranger leaves the room to perform a spell to locate Tala. The spell is cut short when he is attacked by his old foe Tannarak.
