Synopsis:
Buddy joins a group of animal rights activists who break into a laboratory to rescue animal test subjects. During the break-in, the leader of the group sets fire to the building. Buddy later learns that firemen were injured putting out the fire. He feels guilty that his actions harmed others.
After his wife and best friend both question his actions, Buddy decides to quit being Animal Man. First, though, he appears on a television debate over animal rights. His opponent turns his own arguments against him. When Buddy returns home, he finds James Highwater waiting for him. Highwater is slowly vanishing from existence.
Elsewhere Lennox meets with McCulloch, the new Mirror Master, to get the layout of Buddy's house.
