Synopsis:
Shortly after the Legion is founded, the three original members searched for a headquarters. Unfortunately, fear of super-battles in neighborhoods made the Legion unwanted tenants. Without a clubhouse, the Legion held their first membership tryout in a public park. No candidates proved worthy for membership.
Scorned by the Legion's disapproval one applicant, Mnemonic Kid uses her powers to selectively erase the memories of the Legionnaires. Outraged at what he sees, another applicant, Fortress Lad, turns himself into a rocket-shaped building to protect the Legionnaires. They are able to stop Mnemonic Kid, but their memory of Fortress Lad is destroyed. Fotress Lad himself has all his memories removed and remains in building form forever, though he served as the Legion's first clubhouse.
