Synopsis:
Zatara witnesses young Bobby Gordon accidentally lose his fishing rod in a stream. He decides to have some fun with Bobby, so he creates a magical brownie named Ajax to retrieve the rod. Bobby befriends the brownie without realizing that Zatara has created him.

Bobby's conversation is also observed by Clinker, a member of Silent's gang who is wanted for a recent bank robbery. Clinker returns to his boss and finally convinces him that the brownies have gold. The gang returns to the stream where Zatara is waiting for them. He allows the crooks to steal the brownie gold and take it to their hiding place. He then apprehends the crooks and recovers the stolen bank loot.
