Synopsis:
Clark Kent learns that the staff of the Daily Planet intends to throw a surprise birthday party for him. Lois invites Superman, so Clark hires an actor Tex O'Tagg to play the role. Tex informs the underworld boss Cobra King about one of the party guests who will be wearing priceless emeralds. Tex then helps the mobsters steal the jewels.

Superman chases down Tex and turns him over to police. He then returns to the party and apprehends the rest of the mobsters. He returns the emeralds before disappearing so that he can reappear as Clark.
