Synopsis:
One morning on his way to the Ferris Aircraft Company, Hal Jordan is unknowingly subjected to the invisible beam of light by two spies. The beam coats it’s target with an aura which allows a special viewer to see everything the target sees. The spies plan to use it to view and steal the plans to a new plane, the X-50.

At the hangar, prior to his meeting with the military, Hal Jordan charges his power ring. The power battery is invisible, so the spies are confused as to what he is doing. When he is finished, Hal attends a briefing of the X-50. Hal has already studied the plans and chooses not to look them over further, which thwarts the spies plan. However, they are able to view the combination to the safe the plans are stored in.

That evening while at dinner Hal’s power ring warns him the plans are being stolen (He had placed an aura around them as an alarm system). Hal tracks them down as Green Lantern. He captures the thieves and uses the power ring to discover their spy-beam plot. GL also learns the location of their hideout, but when he arrives the spies are gone. He elects to keep the plans with him in orbit until they are needed the next day.

The following day, Green Lantern delivers the plans back to the military. The spies notice that Hal Jordan is missing, but they can view Green Lantern. They deduce his secret identity and formulate a plot to steal the power ring. Unfortunately, the spy-eye machine breaks down before they can view any more.

When they get the machine repaired, Hal Jordan has already taken off on the X-50’s test flight. When he lands, they disguise themselves as doctors and capture him. They order Hal to turn over his power ring, but Hal denies his secret identity. Suddenly, Green Lantern shows up and apprehends the rest of the crooks.

Later at the hangar, Hal explains to Pieface that during the test flight, he left the plane invisibly and charged his ring. Then he secretly ordered Pieface to assume the role of Green Lantern and capture the spies.
