Synopsis:
While fishing, Jimmy is pulled underwater and meets a mermaid. The mermaid gives Jimmy a magic ring that lets him breathe underwater. Over the next few days Jimmy performs several underwater feats and rescues.

Superman has actually hoaxed Jimmy. Using his powers, Superman has faked Jimmy's ability to breathe underwater. Jimmy accidentally got an ink stain on his hand that reveals Superman's secret identity. Superman has perpetrated the hoax to get Jimmy to remain in salt water which causes the stain to wear off before Jimmy can see it. When the stain is gone, Superman ends the hoax, never telling Jimmy why he did it.
