Synopsis:
After learning that his friend Barry Allen has finally married Iris West, Hal Jordan decides to propose to Carol Ferris. Before Hal can pop the question, Carol explains that she is now engaged to the wealthy Jason Belmore. Disappointed, Hal leaves Carol behind.
On his way home, Hal sees a UFO. He investigates and discovers it to be a costumed criminal known as the Dazzler. Somehow Green Lantern's ring proves ineffective against the crook, and the Dazzler escapes. GL then relates the story to Pieface, who claims to have seen the Dazzler on a live TV show at the same time as the robbery.
GL visits the TV studio, where actor Kden Baldwin play the Dazzler. The live show establishes an alibi, but Hal suspects the special effects man, Henry Peters. Hal follows Peters and discovers that he is an alien with amazing mental powers. Peters came to Earth because of a fascination with show business. Peters admits to having trained Baldwin.
Green Lantern then tracks down the Dazzler again. The Dazzler creates two duplicates of himself to confuse GL. Hal knocks out the real crook and causes the duplicates to disappear. The Dazzler is then exposed as Baldwin, who used one of his duplicates to establish an alibi earlier. Peters then returns to his home planet.
As a result of Carol's engagement, Hal decides to leave Coast City.
