Synopsis:
Mxyzptlk returns to Earth with a new legal name, John Trix, given to him by a 5th dimensional court. The imp begins tearing up Metropolis with his usual mischief, until confronted by Superman. The Man of Steel tricks Mxyzptlk into saying his name backwards, but this time he does not go away.
Puzzled, Superman tries again to get Mxyzptlk to say his name backward, until the imp tells him his name has been changed. Without knowing the imp’s current name, Superman cannot send him home.
Another Mxyzptlk arrives claiming the first one to be a phony. Believing it to be a robot sent by Superman, Mxyzptlk challenges the newcomer. When the new imp says Kltpzyxm, he disappears. Not to be outdone, the first Mxyzptlk says Xirt Nhoj returning him to the 5th dimension. With the imp gone, the fake Mxyzptlk returns and is revealed to be Van Zee and the Superman Emergency Squad animating a puppet. Back on his home world, Mxyzptlk fumes because he was tricked and his new name has legally expired, making it unusable in the future.
