Part II:"The King is Dead -- Long Live -- Which King?"
Synopsis:
Crime boss King Wolff escapes from prison just as he is scheduled to be executed in the electric chair. Batman follows Wolff to his hide-out. Instead of immediately attempting to apprehend Wolff, Batman disguises himself as one of Wolff's lieutenants in order to learn his plans.
Wolff sends each of his lieutenants on a series of robberies. Superman and Batman help the crooks, so they can learn Wolff's larger scheme. Wolff eventually uses the stolen items to send himself to the moon. Wolff was dying and wanted to leave a mark that will be remembered. He constructs a giant glowing 'W' that can be seen from Earth, but because his landing site is on the dark side of the moon, no one can see the landmark.
