Bruce Wayne visits Spain where a movie is being filmed about the life of Hans Von Hammer, the Enemy Ace. The film is plagued by sabotage which claims the life of a stunt pilot. Batman catches some of the saboteurs and follows them back to Gavin, the cameraman. He was paid by a rival studio to sabotage the movie. However, he claims that the pilot's murder was not his doing.

When the director is shot, Batman realizes that another man is out to stop the movie. Heinrich Franz, Von Hammer's ancestor, wants the film stopped. He challenges Batman to a duel in the sky. Both men pilot World War I era planes. Batman is inexperienced, but he manages to surprise Franz, who falls to his death.
