Synopsis:
During his travels, the Golden Gladiator comes to a village threatened by Crassus the Conqueror. Marcus pledges his help to the villagers by offering to be their wall against the invaders. When the attack comes by sea, Marcus finds that he is only a man not a wall. However, the village boys offer to help. Marcus orders them to construct a toy boat which he loads with fiery coals. He then rams the invading ship with the toy boat and sets fire to it.

Following the destruction of their ship, the invaders regroup for a land assault. Marcus directs the boys to tie their swords and shields to goats. The goats are then herded near the pass where the attackers are traveling. The clang of sword and shield scares the attackers into the belief that an army is near. The invaders retreat.

Crassus is the only one not fooled by the trick. The Golden Gladiator attacks him directly before he can inform the rest of his troops. Marcus wins the duel, then he takes Crassus to the village as a prisoner.
