A giant starfish-like creature arrives outside Gotham City and causes explosions with its tendrils. Members of an interplanetary circus arrive and inform Batman that the creature is a Zelaphod and four alien worlds hold the antidote to defeat the creature. Superman, who has been unable to stop the Zelaphod, and the Dynamic Duo explore the four worlds and locate the ingredients to the antidote. They are successful and are able to destroy the Zelaphod. Batman also locates the source of the creature’s existance and permanently removes it, so no more creatures like it will be created.
