Synopsis:
Superman gives Jimmy a space crystal which alters Jimmy’s emotions. The crystal causes Jimmy to hate Superman. Jimmy pulls several pranks on his former friend, before the effects of the crystal wear off. However, he is exposed again, and Jimmy continues to insult the Man of Steel. As a result Jimmy is fired from his job and leaves town.

Investigating Jimmy’s strange behavior, Superman and Perry White search Jimmy’s apartment. Perry is exposed to the crystal and experiences similar emotional changes. Superman makes the connection to the crystal and leaves it sealed in a box while he returns with Jimmy.

Lois Lane attempts to use the crystal to expose Superman’s secret identity. Superman is tipped off to the plan and fakes being affected as Clark Kent. Superman destroys the crystal and restores his friendship with Jimmy.
