Comments:
Supergirl’s origin is briefly recapped in this story, and she meets Jimmy Olsen for the first time.

Synopsis:
Jimmy Olsen sets out to expose a side show phony, but he is temporarily blinded by some tear gas. Colby, the head of the show, trys to kill Jimmy. Jimmy is rescued by Supergirl, who is filling in for Superman.

Jimmy does not believe Supergirl is real, since her existance is a secret. She tries to convince him, but he believes she is the side show strong girl, Thora. When Superman returns from his mission, he helps Jimmy expose the side show and capture Colby. When Jimmy recovers his eyesight, he still does not believe in Supergirl.
