Comments:
This story takes places during the Korean War.

Synopsis:
A freshly trained K-9 named Ace is assigned to Rex's unit. Major Dennis asks Rex to break him in on his first patrol. Ace runs wild, forcing Rex to constantly keep him out of trouble. When Ace engages a group of enemy troops, he leads them back to Major Dennis. The major thinks Ace did a good job of getting the enemy to tip themselves off.

Rex is left behind on the next patrol, as the soldiers use Ace instead. Rex still doesn't believe Ace is ready and scouts ahead of the unit. He discovers an enemy trap which Ace is leading the men into. Rex causes the enemy to fire, giving away their poisition. They nearly kill him, but Ace comes to the rescue. After the battle Rex gives Ace his approval.
