Gunner is forced to take cover behind the ammo to reload his weapon. When the boat’s driver is killed, Gunner leaps to safety as the boat crashes into the ammo.

Gunner returns to the Sarge, who then sends the private to the supply ship for ice cream. While on board Gunner survives an attack by a Japanese fighter plane. Gunner then returns to shore and the Sarge.

Sarge then joins Gunner on a patrol for an enemy tank. Instead the pair run across a group of Japanese infantry. They withstand a kamikaze charge, then return to camp where Gunner resumes his nap.
