History:
Wealthy "King" Standish was a master of disguise who fought crime in the 1940s in the secret identity of the King. Both the police and the underworld believed the King to be a criminal, but in fact he always acted to thwart criminals and to assist their victims. No one knew what the King’s true face looked like, for he always appeared either masked and in costume or in one of his innumerable disguises.

The King’s most frequent opponent was the Witch, a criminal who rivaled his skill at disguises. Although the King continually upset her schemes, he did not turn her over to the police, since he was strongly attracted to her. Despite herself, the Witch felt attracted to the King as well.

The King’s current whereabouts and activities, if any, are unknown.

The King is a supreme master of makeup and disguise, and a consummate actor. He is an excellent hand-to-hand combatant.
