History:
The Deep Six are a team of six half-humanoid beings from the planet Apokolips who carry out missions of terror and destruction for their master, Darkseid. They possess super-human strength, fish-like scaly skin and fins, and gills that enable them to function underwater. It is not known how long the Deep Six can function out of water. The origin of the Deep Six has never been revealed.

One of them, Slig, can disintegrate an object by touching it. Both Slig and Jaffar can radically mutate another living being by touching it with their hands. Whether other members of the Deep Six possess these powers is unknown. Shaligo the Flying Finback is capable of flight, and Trok wields a whirling axe. The specialties of the other two, Gole and Kurin, are unknown.

The Deep Six were all seemingly killed by Orion of the New Gods while battling him on Earth. Subsequently, Slig returned to fight Orion and was apparently killed by him. It seems that either the Deep Six are very difficult to kill, or Apokolips technology has so far proved capable of resurrecting them.
