Synopsis:
Clark Kent is given permission to test drive a race car on the speedway. As he enters the first turn, Clark is psychically attacked by the Circle. He loses concentration on the car and crashes. To cover the fact that he was not injured, Clark claims to have been thrown free of the car before it crashed.
The Circle's agents Charger and Deuce break Concussion out of prison. They then attend a meeting of the Circle who realizes that it was wrong to try to kill Superman. Instead they want him to use his power to help them leave Earth.
Superman recognizes the Jurgens Building from the one he saw when under attack at the race track. He enters and is forced to battle mental projections of his friends. Eventually he agrees to help the Circle leave Earth as long as he stays behind. They agree. Superman then regains his senses and finds himself in the debris of the building. The Circle is gone.
