Synopsis:
Simon Stagg is invited to Science Station Alpha, a futuristic station in the Grand Canyon. Stagg is in love with Zelda Trumbull, the station owner's daughter. Metamorpho, Sapphire, and Java accompany Simon on the trip and are given a tour of the station by T.T. Trumbull.

Trumbull has discovered a new metal, Staggium, which weakens Metamorpho. A robot constructed of the metal is sent to kill Metamorpho. While the Element Man flees from the robot, Trumbull unleashes a plan to take over the United States by targeting missile sites around the country. The military is helpless to stop the plan and counts on Metamorpho.

Rex avoids capture by the robot and lures it into the sights of the army guns. Once the robot is destroyed, Metamorpho finds the control room to Trumbull's weapons. Trumbull holds Stagg, Sapphire, and Java at gunpoint to force Metamorpho to surrender, but his henchman Ominoreg betrays him. Trumbull is defeated, and Metamorpho destroys his machines that target the country's missiles. Metamorpho is then congratulated by the president.
