Synopsis:
John Henry Martin was a small-time criminal who was framed for murdering a cop. He was sentenced be executed, but gained super-powers when the meta-gene bomb exploded. Martin escaped from death row, but was caught and sent to Belle Reve.

After his time at Belle Reve, the authorities believed his powers had permanently disappeared, so they transferred him. Martin still had his powers and used the transfer to escape again. Now, he wants revenge on those who framed him.

Manhunter is able to find Martin in Georgia. He is sympathetic to Martin and tries to get him to come in peacefully. Martin refuses. During the ensuing fight, the local police arrive including two of the men who framed Martin. The outlaw kills one and chases the other. They reach a standoff on a bridge. Martin kills his enemy before being shot by police. His body falls into the river below and is not recovered.
