"Election Day" Part 3
This story is continued from Question #23 and continues in Question #25.
Synopsis:
The Question attempts to save Royal Dinsmore from being beaten to death by his own gang. He is overpowered and nearly set on fire. However, a large tornado strikes Hub City at that moment which interrupts the fight. Several members of the gang are killed, and the others scatter.
The Question survives the storm, then he returns to the television station to learn the election results. Dinsmore has won by a single vote. However, when he tried to escape from the gang and the storm, his car landed in the river. Dinsmore is found dead.
Election rules state that the person getting the second most votes will be placed in office, should the elected official die before being sworn in. Myra is set to become mayor. She holds a press conference. Her speech is interrupted by her husband, Wesley, who shoots her in the chest.
