Synopsis:
Liberty Belle tells John Law, the Tarantula, her origin for his post war book.
Libby Lawrence was living with her father Major James Lawrence in Warsaw, Poland in 1939. When Hitler and the German's invaded Major Lawrence was killed during an air raid. Rick Cannon, an American double agent, helped Libby escape to Holland. When Hitler's blitzkrieg continued the following Spring, Cannon helped her into France. However, she arrived just in time for the battle at Dunkirk. Libby was forced to flee by swimming across the English Channel.
When Libby arrived in England, she was hailed as a hero. She returned to America where she was given a syndicated column and a radio program to warn America about the Nazi menace.
In the Fall of 1941, Libby visited Philadelphia and met Tom Revere, the guard of the Liberty Bell. When the bell was struck, Libby noticed a strange vibration in her medallion which was made from a piece of the bell. The vibration gave Libby an adrenaline rush.
Libby then saw Rick Cannon consorting with German spies. Unaware that Rick was really an intelligence agent, she believed that he was a spy as she always suspected. To stop the spies, Libby donned a costume and mask and went into action as Liberty Belle. Rick's alliegance was soon evident, and together they took down the spy ring.
Liberty Belle later joined the All-Star Squadron. She recently gained sonic powers, but was saddened by the death of Tom Revere.
After telling her story to the Tarantula, Libby embarks on a honeymoon with her new husband Johnny Quick.
