Synopsis:
Chakka, the companion of Tinder, has stolen a gem containing the spirit of the Evil One. It possesses him and unleashes ancient evil. Jennifer Morgan has discovered that only the Hellfire blade can kill the Evil One. The Warlord then seeks out the Keepers who dwell in a magical place beneath the lake in which he discarded the blade.
The Keepers agree to return the blade to Morgan, but he must first fight Dagon, king of the undead. Morgan bests his opponent in combat. The Hellfire blade is returned to him. The Keepers explain that only Morgan or his heirs will be able to wield the sword.
Morgan returns to Skartaris and seeks out the Evil One. Jennifer is at his side, but Tinder follows also follows them. The Warlord tries to kill the Evil One by driving the sword through his chest. Instead of dying, the Evil One is able to leave the body and attack his foes. Tinder pulls out the blade and uses it to slay the Evil One.
In the aftermath, Jennifer realizes that Tinder must be Morgan's true heir. However, the boy has disappeared. He mourns the loss of his friend Chakka. The Warlord himself was unconscious while Tinder held the sword, so he does not know about Tinder's true heritage.
