Synopsis:
The Big Gang, a gang of costumed crooks each with a gimmick based on big phrase, recruits a new member called Big Deal who uses card tricks for crime. The Big Gang plans three robberies in Ivy Town to steal the world's largest emerald, coin, and stamp. They expect to encounter the Atom during the second robbery and plan accordingly.
When the Big Gang strikes to steal the largest emerald from Candace Hill, Ray Palmer happens to be on the scene. He interrupts the robbery as the Atom, upsetting the plans of the Big Gang. Despite the disruption in their plan, the crooks succeed with the robbery and believe the Atom is dead.
However, the Atom has survived and is able to catch up to the gang at the next robbery. Once again, he fails to stop the crooks and is presumed dead. As in their previous meeting, the Atom has survived. He then manages to locate the hideout the gang uses to store their stolen loot. When he battles the Big Gang the third time, the Atom finally prevails by using the "big" loot against the thieves.
