Synopsis:
Space Ranger visits Mercury where he has been asked to negotiate a dispute between two tribes that has arisen over water rights. When he arrives Space Ranger discovers that one tribe has advanced weapons that it found in a crashed space ship. Space Ranger also learns that the aliens are using a growth ray.

The growth ray unleashes two energy beasts that had been aboard the crashed vessel. The beasts run amok and threaten both villages. Space Ranger finds that the creatures are weakened by water, so he forces them into the river. He then uses the growth ray on them which ages them rapidly and eventually kills them. Space Ranger departs the planet after negotiating a settlement between the two tribes.
