Synopsis:
Superman destroys a meteor above the skies of Metropolis. Inside the meteor is a picture showing Superman marrying a woman that he has never met. A historian examines the picture and determines it is 800 years old from the town of Belford.
Superman travels back in time to investigate. His super powers are seen by a villager named Eric, who convinces the townspeople that the Man of Steel is under his control. Superman plays along in order to learn Eric's motivation, learning in the process that the woman in the picture is Eric's sister Aldine.
Superman learns that Eric is leading a revolt against the tyrant Duke Glennon. His people fear Glennon's "magic", so he gives them confidence by claiming to control Superman. When their first attack is thwarted, the people lose confidence, believing that Superman might be evil. To convince them of his good intentions, Superman pretends to marry Aldine in a sham ceremony. Superman then buries the picture inside a rock.
After Eric's revolt succeeds, Superman wonders what happened to the rock. A man claims that it flew into the sky. Superman guesses that the meteor contained magnetic ore and drew the iron rock into the sky. When the meteor returned 800 years later, the picture was still inside.
