Synopsis:
Professor Sayers has found proof that the historical traitor, Hengest, was not guilty of his crimes against the Saxons. Rip Hunter and his team travel back in time to save Hengest from execution for a crime he didn’t committ.

Rip saves Hengest from the Saxon army. Hengest explains that he intended to lead the Jute army into a trap instead. They allow Hengest to go talk with the Jutes while Rip returns to the Saxon camp. The team finds that Hengest escaped from his cell by drilling a hole in the wall with a strange weapon, so Rip and Corky follow Hengest to discover the secret.

They learn that Hengest has betrayed both sides to some aliens. Rip and Corky are then chased by two alien beasts, but they are rescued by Bonnie and Jeff in the time sphere.

The Jutes begin their attack, falling victim to Hengest’s treachery. Rip intervenes to prevent the battle with the Saxons and reveals the plot of the traitor. Both armies unite against the aliens, but are easily overcome by the greater technology. Only with the assistance of Rip and his team are the humans able to drive off the invaders. Hengest is caught and tried as a traitor, leaving history unchanged.
