Comments:
Beginning with this issue, the stories take place early in Wonder Woman's career as demonstrated by the fact that Diana is depicted as an army nurse, rather than an officer in military intelligence. She resumes contemporary adventures beginning in the first story of Wonder Woman #166.
Synopsis:
While visiting the zoo with Steve Trevor, Wonder Woman encounters the Cheetah in the act of a robbery. Steve tries to impress Wonder Woman by apprehending her gang himself. He fails, so Wonder Woman uses her might to capture them. However, the Cheetah escapes.
Cheetah decides to use Steve against Wonder Woman. She hypnotizes him into falling for her. When Wonder Woman sees them kissing, she is overcome with emotion. During the Amazon's moment of weakness, Cheetah takes Wonder Woman's magic lasso and uses it against her opponent.
Cheetah takes Wonder Woman and Steve to her hide-out where she is assembling a private army. She then orders Wonder Woman to remove her bracelets. When the Amazon takes them off, she goes on an uncontrolled rampage. After Cheetah's army is smashed, Steve manages to put Wonder Woman's bracelets back on, restoring her self-control. Wonder Woman then takes the Cheetah to prison.
