Synopsis:
For Jimmy Olsen’s birthday, Superman agrees to allow Professor Potter to siphon off some of Superman’s power to give Jimmy powers temporarily. Something goes wrong and all of Superman’s powers are transferred to Jimmy. The effect will be permanent if not reversed in 8 hours, but the machine is broken beyond repair.
Jimmy gives Superman his signal watch while he leaves to perform super-deeds. Superman tries to leave and contact Supergirl to help fix the machine, but he keeps getting into trouble. He summons Jimmy who arrives to rescue him, but Jimmy scolds Superman for bothering him.
Jimmy’s friends are disappointed in his behavior, but he finally reveals that he was working to fix the machine and restore Superman’s powers before the 8 hours were up. Superman gets his powers back, and Jimmy has proved himself.
