Comments:
This story takes place during an early mission of the Haunted Tank in North Africa. It also contains a flashback to Jeb Stuart's first meeting with Rick, Arch, and Slim at Fort Nelson.
Synopsis:
While fighting in North Africa, Jeb Stuart is knocked unconscious. While he is down, he recalls his first meeting with his crew at Fort Nelson. Jeb was from the north, while Rick, Arch, and Slim were southern boys. They did not accept Jeb's name because it previously belonged to a Civil War general who fought for the Confederacy. Jeb proves himself by fighting each of the men. Though he loses each fight, he proves his mettle, and they accept his name. The ghost of General Stuart then appears amd also blesses Jeb's name.
Months later the crew is sent to North Africa where Jeb was knocked out. When he recovers the Haunted Tank heads to Fort Dune. Before they arrive, the fort is destroyed. Without the fort in place the Nazis send a train carrying supplies through the area. Jeb attacks it with the tank. When weapons prove ineffective, Jeb rams the train and derails it.
