Synopsis:
Batman rescues a young woman on the pier, who turns out to be Marica Monroe his former fiancee. Marcia was a wealthy socialite who met Batman and fell in love with him, but then left before they were to be married. She has returned to Gotham, so that Batman can replace a jewel that was stolen by her dead boyfriend from a museum. Batman agrees to replace the jewel, but a photograph is turned over to police implicating Batman in the jewel's theft. Commissioner Gordon is forced to arrest Batman.

Eclipso then joins Marcia, in her own costumed identity as Queen Bee, in a massive crime wave. Batman escapes prison and locates the gang's hide-out inside the Apis Enterprises skyscraper. Eclipso tries to kill Batman, which turns Marcia against him. She explains that she is cooperating with the criminals in order to save her father. She returns the stolen jewel to Batman, then disappears.

Batman escapes the building through a window. Eclipso pursues him using his black diamond energy blasts. Eclipso's other self, Bruce Gordon, arrives on the scene and uses a burst of light to blind everyone and return Eclipso to his body. Batman is cleared by police for the jewel theft, and Bruce Gordon leaves the scene maintaining his secret.
