Synopsis:
Rhea Jones has emerged from a chrysalis state in a new more powerful form. The Chief questions her, but she is drawn away by the arrival of a circus. At the circus, Rhea is directed to a hall of mirrors where she sees images of her own past and future.
Meanwhile, Cliff, Rebis, and Jane follow in search of Rhea. They split up and each encounter weird circus performers intent on stalling them. The circus people are actually alien beings in service of Huss. They disappear with Rhea and Rebis, leaving Cliff and Jane behind. Another pair of aliens arrives moments later. They indicate that the Geomancers have anticipated their arrival.
