Synopsis:
Sarge assigns a dog named Billy to join Gunner on patrol. Gunner is resentful of the dog which he calls Pooch and is laughed at by the other soldiers. Pooch proves himself by consistently warning Gunner of enemy attacks. However, Gunner is still not convinced that Pooch is an asset.
When an explosion blinds gunner, Sarge goes off alone to fight an enemy tank. Gunner hears the battle and believes the tank has prevailed. Pooch then leads Gunner to the tank and shows him where to shoot. Though blinded, Gunner is able to destroy the tank and save Sarge. Having seen the value of Pooch's assistance, Gunner is happy to have his new partner.
