Synopsis:
Shathan the Eternal, ruler of the psycho-matter world of Dis, offers to help various people in life-threatening situations in exchange for their shadows. Using the shadows Shathan plots to enter the physical world. Spectre witnesses the theft of a shadow. When he investigates, he is drawn to the world of Dis and attacked by demons.
Spectre overcomes his opponents, then travels back in time to learn of Shathan's creation. He also learns that Azmodus was Shathan's agent. Spectre plans to oppose Shathan, so the demon ruler threatens Jim Corrigan in order to delay the Spectre.
Spectre decides to track down Shathan's worshippers just as they succeed in bringing him to Earth. Spectre engages Shathan in battle, but finds his opponent is all-powerful. Spectre then drags Shathan back in time to various large explosions in hopes one will be powerful enough to destroy the demon. When Spectre tosses Shathan into the primal atom at the dawn of time, the explosion causes the demon's essence to be hurled outward into the universe, incapable of reforming.
