Synopsis:
Jeb Stuart and his crew encounter an american deserter who is headed toward a firing squad. Before the execution, a Naxi plane crashes nearby. The deserter is able to escape in the confusion. He grabs a gun and takes Jeb hostage inside the Haunted Tank.
The soldier was an infantryman that had been traumatized by the danger he had faced. He thinks that Stuart and his crew have it easy riding around inside the armored tank. When the tank sees action though, he soon learns that they are in danger too. Jeb even helps the man instead of trying to escape.
When Jeb and his crew are then trapped in a building, a grenade comes through the window. Slim dives on the grenade and smothers it to save his buddies. The deserter learns courage from these men and sacrifices himself to destroy a Nazi tank that threatens them.
