Synopsis:
Barry is held prisoner in Fang Gow's hideout in Port Said. Inspector Le Grand leads a team of French sailors who assault the compound. Fang Gow orders Barry's death, but a sailor shoots the intended assassin. Another sailor shoots Fang Gow, who falls into the channel waters.

Barry dives into the water to find the criminal's body. He can't find it. Le Grand then gets everyone out of the compound before a French ship opens fire and destroys the hideout. Barry and Le Grand are then reunited with Jean, who escaped her ordeal in the desert with the help of a merchant. The trio return to Paris.

Back in Port Said, surgeons work feverishly to keep a man alive. Fang Gow still lives.
