Lois is the only witness to a murder. She is unable to identify the killer from mug shots, so she fears he will come after her. While visiting Professor Colby, Lois is exposed to a growth ray that causes her to become fat. Lois is embarrassed by her weight and avoids Superman. Eventually the killer finds Lois, but Superman is nearby to save her. After catching the crook, the Man of Steel explains that he arranged for the growth ray to affect Lois, so as to disguise her. Lois is angry, but Superman cures her, allowing her to return to normal size.
