Comments:
This story is continued from Adventure Comics #354.
Because the Adult Legion comes from a different time-line, so do all the other characters in this story.
Synopsis:
The Legion of Super-Villains, which now includes two new members, Echo and Beauty Blaze, plots to defeat the Super-Heroes by capturing a Legionnaire. When Superman decides to depart for his own time, Brainiac 5 accompanies him to the time-travel lanes, and is captured by the villains moments after the Man of Steel vanishes.
Hours later, the villains announce to the worried Legionnaires that they have abducted Brainiac 5. Envelopes materialize containing different destinations, at which his location will be revealed. Each hero travels to his appointed spot and defeats the Super-Villain waiting for him: Cosmic Man meets Echo at Echo Canyon, Saturn Woman encounters Saturn Queen at the Universe Fair in Metropolis, Lightning Man find his brother, Lightning Lord, in the Metropolis Power Company's power plant, Polar Man battles Beauty Blaze on the island of Java, and Element Man fights Cosmic King in a chemical laboratory.
The Legionnaires learn that Brainiac 5 is being held in the villains' undersea base, and meet there to free their comrade, only to find that the real villains are waiting for them, the heroes having actually battled life-like images.
The Legionnaires are soon overcome, but are saved when two armor-clad figures arrive to rescue them. These prove to be the 30th century descendants of Lex Luthor and Mr. Mxyzptlk, and the grateful heroes accept them as new members.
